What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants will replace the loss of your tooth’s roots. The implants will provide a permanent, firm foundation for a tooth to be inserted. It will be permanently anchored into your jaw bone, and then a tooth (crown) will be attached to a Custom Abutment that will be screwed into the implant. The process is painless and simple. Once your implant(s) are completed they will look, feel, and function like natural teeth.
What is the Process to Obtain Dental Implants?
- Schedule a Free Consultation Appointment. At this consultation appointment you will meet the dentist, an x-ray maybe taken, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions about the procedure. You will also talk with our finance department to talk about costs and if you have any coverage with your insurance. Twin Cities Dental will fully explain every aspect of the procedure, and will discuss alternative options that may be available if implants are not a right fit for your particular needs.
- Procedure Day. Schedule an appointment to have the implants inserted. You will receive local anesthetic for the procedure, and your vitals will be checked throughout the process. It takes about 50 minutes for this appointment, but times may vary depending on how many implants you are receiving.
- Evaluation of Dental Implant and Custom Abutment Day. This appointment will take place 6-10 weeks after implant was placed. This day you will receive the second part of your dental implant and an impressions is taken for the Implant crown.
- Custom Dental Crowns. This appointment will last for about 30 minutes per tooth implant, but times may vary. The dentist will place your custom crowns into the implant. There is little to no pain at this stage and the final appointment to the completion of your Implant!!
